methadone detox

Methadone Detox is the opening stage of a user’s route to recovery. There are a range of symptoms which can be experienced during the detox, they can include, but are not limited to excessive perspiration, high fever, abdominal cramps, nausea, tremors, and irritability.

Detoxing from methadone is considered to be more complicated than a sudden detox from heroin, which is why methadone detox is advised to be done under the supervision of a doctor in the form of medically managed reduction. The rate at which it is decreased is dependent on the reaction of each individual.

Tailored Rehab will assess the condition of the user and ascertain which requirements are needed in order to refer them to the most appropriate treatment centre for a detox.

It is important to us that the client continues to make progress after completing a methadone detox. As this can be a particularly vulnerable time for the client they will almost certainly require some help to stay free from drugs. We therefore also refer and recommend rehabilitation clinics which offer a personalised treatment most suitable for the next step of recovery. All of our recommended centres can take the client safely and comfortably through the methadone detox process.
